Apostille on a higher education diploma
The Apostille (Apostille) stamp confirms the authenticity of the signature of an official and the seal of the educational institution on education documents. This is a mandatory requirement for recognition of the diploma in Hague Convention member countries (Germany, Poland, Italy, USA, etc.).
The procedure is carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of Ukraine in Kyiv. Note: the diploma and its supplement are two separate documents, so an apostille stamp must be placed on each document individually.
Apostille options and timescales at MES:
- Diplomas issued from 2000 (with electronic verification in USEDE):
- Standard: 10 business days — UAH 950/document
- Urgent: 3 business days — UAH 1,150/document
- Expedited: 1 business day — UAH 1,700/document
- Diplomas issued before 2000 (require sending a paper request to the educational institution's archive):
- Standard: 20 business days — UAH 1,150/document
